Synopsis

Hollywood film director, "Mission: Impossible II" (2000), John Woo re-issued his latest work at the end of the 2014's. Hong Kong-born filmmaker Guangzhou, China was presented with a brand-new movie genre epic drama titled The Crossing. Zhang Ziyi, who played in the movie "Rush Hour 2" (2001) and Takeshi Kaneshiro in collaboration with John Woo in the film Red Cliff (2008 and 2009) to compete acting in this movie.

The story in the film The Crossing is lifted from the real story of the sinking of the Taiping post World War 2. Chinese steamer was sunk after colliding with a cargo ship on its way from Shanghai to the Keelung, Taiwan on January 27, 1949, while vibrating the Chinese Revolution. Ships with a capacity of 580 passengers should get overloaded, because carrying 1500 passengers, and only about 50 people who survived.

The film The Crossing own more focus on the love story of three couples on board the Taiping. They boarded the ship to escape to Taiwan from China's civil war, the same as most other refugees. In addition to Zhang Ziyi and Takeshi Kaneshiro, South Korean actress also took part in the film "The Crossing" along with Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming, who both participated in the vessel.

Song Hye Kyo asked to move to Taiwan to escape the civil war. However, thrown off the ship turned out to have an accident on the way. In these tragic events, tucked into a romantic love story.
